This collection by Calvin Klein experiments with different smart jackets trousers and suits in a variety of different materials, i think it is important for us to think about how different materials will photograph for our shoot.

Burberry Prosum menswear Autumn/Winter 2011

This collection by Burberry Prosum features variations on there classic jackets and trenches along with other items and dominant accessories. This collection got me thinking about accessories, the accessories bring an outfit together and i think that this is something we need to bear in mind when do our shoot.

Band of outsiders spring/summer 2011

I think that this collection by Band of outsiders is really interesting, there appears to be something there for every type of man, there is a huge variety of different styles ranging from very casual to quite formal. This is a good collection to look at when looking for ideas for out shoot.

Bottega Veneta Menswear spring/summer 2011

Again while looking on vogue.com I can across this menswear collection which features a variety of casual and quite formal clothing in a range of materials. I think that this collection is interesting because it seems to be aimed at different men not just one kind in particular.

B store men spring/summer 2011

I wanted to look at some current mens trends, I looked on Vogue.com at the various menswear collections. These images are from the B store Menswear spring/summer 2011, I like how there is quite a variety of different pieces and the casual nature of the clothing, they are clothes you could see being worn day to day.

Concept/idea

The concept for our photo shoot is based around the idea of clothing as a language, we will use clothing to communicate with the viewer. When people wear a particular type of clothing we associate them with certain things and a certain type of person. People use their clothes to express certain things about them for example, status, personality and interests.

We will have 5 different outfits that will all communicate a different message, as part of our idea we will ask people to fill in questionnaires asking them questions about what sort of person would you expect to wear that outfit etc.We will find out what people tend to think about people wearing a particular style of clothing, and what kind of message is expressed when wearing these clothes.

We will photograph both models in a kind of 'straight up' style in the studio wearing the five different outfits.

Potential models

For the shoot we wanted to use quite versatile male models so that they could fit in with each look. These are the two potential male models we are looking at using for the shoot, we have chosen two just in case one cant make it, we also thought it might be useful to shoot two and see which has the best outcome. Another thing we could do is use some images of each model.

I think that both of these models could work well within our shoot. They are both quite versatile, especially as they both have relatively long hair that can be put into different styles for the five different looks.
